Social Entrepreneur Larry Tey Por Yee to be In-Charge of Teacher Trainings Program in Rural Myanmar

29 March, 2017, Myanmar – Social Entrepreneur and venture capitalist Tey Por Yee (Larry) will provide sustainable training for teachers from remote areas in Myanmar that lack access to teaching material and new knowledge. These trainings will assist the people of Myanmar at this critical point, towards an equal, just and sustainable society. Larry shows his concerns and contributed to the program during Myanmar Cyber Workshop, held on 29-31 March 2017.

According to Myanmar market research, for decades the education system in Myanmar has been neglected, leaving it rooted with ineffective and outdated teaching methods.

Through systematic trainings and community leaders, teachers and youth would be able to examine the issues facing their young nation, such as outdated education facilities, loss of cultural identity, and unhealthy business investment. These teachers after the training would return to their remote communities with new found awareness to provide better education to their communities.

Gomif Partners, co-lead by venture capitalist Tey Por Yee (Larry), demonstrated to the tech savvy startups in Myanmar Cyber Workshop the ease to contribute to society by using the Internet. Gomif hope that the awareness will inspire more startup to contribute to their society from the start.

Gomif will pick up an equity stake in qualified startups as part of the program. Phase 2 of the program will start in April 2017 and ends in 3-months time. Visit our website for more information.
